  • Had an indoor cat years ago who was forever trying to sneak out the back door if you left it open hanging the washing out etc. He would very stealthily pad out and immediately start choking down grass and weeds for as long as he could before being spotted. Once my parents were housesitting and accidentally let him out through the kitchen window and he vanished for a day (possibly off looking for more exotic weeds to eat) before reappearing of his own accord absolutely filthy and looking completely miserable with a missing tooth. Out of both cats I would not have pegged him to have been the one to make a break for it because he was scared of everything (if a new person came into the house he would hide under a specific chair upstairs all day, just from hearing an unfamiliar voice or footsteps).
