  • I went into Booths Corner (corner Stoke Newington high street - northwold road) to get a coffee and left the bike leaning against the glass door, as I always do, because I am just on the other side. (The shop is tiny, constant view of the bike).

A tall skinny guy with brown long wavy hair just got on it and cycled off. It happened so fast, i opened the door instantly and if my arm was 20cm longer I would have been able to grab him. I screamed and ran after him, but arm was too short and he obviously faster on my bike than me running.

I could only watch him cycling off towards Clapton, report everything to the police and be really upset.

  • Thanks for the report. Sorry that this went wrong this time. Unfortunately, it's usually a better idea to lock a bike even under circumstances like this, but you don't need me to tell you that. Hope you're successful in recovering it--I'd suspect that your description of the thief would be of more value to the police than the description of your bike.
