Pretty certain you will get toe overlap on a PreCursa irrespective of the size. We have 45-60cm ones at work and with the track fork and 165mm cranks they would all give me overlap (size 45/46 feet).
As for the differences with the 8bar, 2-3x the price is the one that I notice straight off.

Thanks!! Do you think toe overlap would be avoided with the road fork from Dolan?

It will help but I think I still got some on my 54 Pre Cursa.

Ok that's really good to know, thanks!
So the conclusion is that if I want to use it as a commute bike, in the streets, I should not go for it if I am afraid of the overlap! Sad but realistic to ride safely I think. -

Toe overlap really isn't that big of an issue! If you're going slowly enough to be getting toe overlap you'll almost certainly be able to put a foot down if necessary any way.

Maybe look into 650c track frame options? If you're looking at a 45cm frame then it might not be a bad option to avoid masses of overlap. My girlfriend who rides a 45 was keen to try fixed but was worried about the overlap so i got her a 650c frame and there's none. As others have said overlap isn't normally a huge issue but you gotta go with what you're comfortable with.

My 58 has toe overlap with the road fork. I can't remember what length cranks I have on but certainly no longer than 170mm. As other people have said, it's not really an issue.

We have had two youngsters that used the 45cm pre cursa bikes and they had a significant degree of toe overlap .
This is inevitable with a very small frame and 700c wheels.
The skill of the rider can mitigate against untoward incidents but riders that small are usually children and are acquiring skills so they can do with out this added drawback .
I would caution anyone thinking of using it on the road .
A much better option is to go for a bike with 650C wheels, the geometry is better and both riders that had very small precursors did much better on our small purpose built 650c bikes with no toe overlap. If your in the market for a small 650C custom built Reyolds 653 steel frame or bike drop me a PM

Thank you guys for your feedback!! That really helps a lot! I will definitely not choose the Pre Cursa even it might be a great bike!
Hi LFGSS community!
Can anyone help on understanding the main differences between 8Bar Fhain V3 and Dolan Pre Cursa track bikes as to quality, performance, behaviour on the streets?
Also I looked at the Pre Cursa geometry chart and I would go for the 45cm size but I am scared of having toe overlap. How can I check that before ordering on Dolan's website? I've been sending over emails to them but they tend to be vague on that subject.
Looking for your answers!
Thanks!!
