Where on the south coast can I drive to from Reading for a day trip of specifically crabbing and generally seaside fun? Happy to leave by 8, so 3 hrs fast driving away.

Weymouth has the best crabbing in the UK (apart from Cromer)

Out of interest do you catch crab to eat or catch and release? I haven't quite 'got' the fun of crabbing...

Beer, Devon. Under three hours and take a big bucket. Walk down to the beach turn right and walk about 150 metres. As the tide goes out it reveals plenty of large boulders/rocks. Lift or roll the biggest you can move and there are crabs galore, Rockling, Blenny, Goby and Pipefish (to name a few) that you can grab if you're quick enough. If the tide is out there are pools further along to the right but you are liable to get cut off if the tide comes back. No crab lines required!

Inkscape can export DXF, or you might qualify for a free start-up licence on Fusion 360 and export sketches as DXF. As a conventional draughtsman I find F360 easier, and it's parametric so much easier to modify designs and keep required constraints if you're doing mechanical design, but Inkscape is much better if you're doing anything with text.

thanks, yes, Fusion360 is what I have (i think you might have recommended it before) :)

Looking for recommendations for a sandy beach on the south coast, easy driving from (west) london and trainable (from SE london), for taking small children to. I'd originally thought Hastings but I remember it as being pebble/shingle, apparently we need somewhere for sandcastles.

Camber sands, near Hastings but, sandy.

Bournemouth fits the criteria (train/car) and the beach is brilliant but popular so the further you walk away from the food and facilities the more room you'll have. Portsmouth/Southsea have beaches and is a quicker drive but then there's the hovercraft to Ryde. Nice beach and a hovercraft, what more could you want?

Camber, sandy, but near Hastings... Also no decent pubs and a bit crowded at weekends. Hastings is sandy at low tide. Avoid Winchelsea Beach large areas of sneaky mud pretending to be sand.

Nice walk to Mudeford from there (Bournemouth) too.

Clicking on the name of the owner at the foot of the page will probably leave you better informed.

I picked up a big leather ox blood tote/ holdall made from offcuts.
Unfortunately, the colour rubs off against light clothes. Any ideas on how to stop this?
Everything seems to be about denmin transfer too bags.
Cheers

Wax?

I was wondering about something like that. Possibly after giving it a firm rub with a damp cloth to lift any excess.
It's sort of a raw leather, so it may spoil the look.
