Our kitten went missing this morning. Turned the house upside down over the space of two hours searching for her (since shes only 3 months she is in the house only, we have been diligently keeping doors and windows shut). Turns out I had forgotten the upstairs bedroom window slightly open. I eventually found her outside in the front garden terrified and hiding behind a plant pot. Crazy kitten either jumped or fell. She has a little limp, but is putting weight on it and is back to games as usual now.
Still can't believe she got up there, I'm pretty certain she can't jump high enough to reach the window sill so only explanation is she pulled herself up the curtains. I feel so bad that I left it open like that but am so glad she is back safe and sound. Have to up my cat dad game if I'm going to get her through to cathood.

Our cats are rescue cats found abandoned outside. One of them is terrified out the outdoors. Add that to the continued cat killings around where we are, both ours are permanent house cats.
One day, I went down in the morning to let them out of the kitchen and I could only find one.
Then, from up on high, I heard a bleating noise; Hendricks had managed to jump out of one of the Velux windows and spent the night on the roof. I'd left it open a fraction of an inch; he'd jumped from the surface, to the top of the fridge, onto the cooker hood and onto the bottom ledge and muscled his way out. They he got scared and couldn't get back in. Had to rescue him with a ladder from outside.
He still goes up on top of the cooker hood though...

Tesla was excellent at running straight up the curtain (vertical surface), then walking along the curtain pole, when she was a kitten.

Are you in catford now? The cat killer is still in operation? Our plan is to eventually let them out, but the little one is so unafraid of everything and fearless I worry she will just walk up to anyone.
Mental your cat went up there. I need to stop underestimating these guys, anything is possible if you are a feline it would seem.

Yeah no claws I don't think. I've never seen the cat lock down and kangaroo kick before, but she loves to do it to her. Kitty doesn't seem to care and comes back for more.

Bickley (Bromley South ish). There have been three cat murders in the last 6 months within 1 mile of our house.

Had an indoor cat years ago who was forever trying to sneak out the back door if you left it open hanging the washing out etc. He would very stealthily pad out and immediately start choking down grass and weeds for as long as he could before being spotted. Once my parents were housesitting and accidentally let him out through the kitchen window and he vanished for a day (possibly off looking for more exotic weeds to eat) before reappearing of his own accord absolutely filthy and looking completely miserable with a missing tooth. Out of both cats I would not have pegged him to have been the one to make a break for it because he was scared of everything (if a new person came into the house he would hide under a specific chair upstairs all day, just from hearing an unfamiliar voice or footsteps).
