He took a break from cycling for 2018 then announced in February that he wouldn't be returning to Axeon. He pretty much said that he didn't have it in him to race any more. He stopped racing after Chad Young's fatal accident in the Tour of the Gila last year and while he never said it overtly, I presumed Chad's death was a factor. He seems to have been pretty focused on climbing this year.

Horrible news anyway. I hope he can find the strength to get over this.

So will G go to CCC or will either G see sense and rename himself C or will CCC become GGG?

With GvA and those other electric riders left maybe BMCCC should do a sponsorship tie-up with TM Lewin, Peroni and Jack Wills. The rider/fan overlap market could be huge.

Apparently, he has a knee injury and can't ride his bike(s). His broken marriage is obviously the biggest concern, but it would probably help if he could get out and ride for a bit.

The more horrific thing is that Armstrong has offered to pop over and help.
