‘91(?) GT Karakoram

Got this a few weeks ago for what I hope was a steal and thought I’d try and do a CP thread. I got it as a whole bike but didn’t take any pictures but I think it had mostly original parts bar the saddle, pedals, tyres and grips and maybe most importantly the matching painted stem, although I might ditch this. The wheels are in pretty solid condition so plan is to strip, clean and build up as and when I can afford too. I don’t have much of a parts bin or even tools as I’ve just moved to Canada so it will probably be slow and tedious.

Current plan is to switch to a single ring at the front so 1x7, bullmoose bars and black fenders for the rainy Vancouver autumn/winter/spring.

nice! yeah i saw that in the catalogue as well;. looks great! i've been pining for a triple triangle for a while. what cassette do you have on the back if you dont mind me asking was it an issue to fit? ive been wondering whether to change the 7-speed but i didnt know if spacing would be an issue.

I have sram 1x11 (Shimano cassette but same spacing) on there and it works fine. If I remember correctly the rear spacing is 135mm, so hub choice is a bit limited - road hubs won't fit. I have a Shimano Deore rear hub on mine.
