  • 🏴SEIZE THE BEANS oF PRODUCTION 🏴

    Yassssssss

  • Have you considered lobotomy?

  • if there's a bi-election would the constituency just come out and vote DUP again

I'm not sure that's the sort of election the DUP would approve of.

  • There could be a significant swing vote.

  • Heh heh.

Anyway - perhaps someone should start an 'Lets Overthrow Capitalism' thread. It'd be like Comment is Free 5 years ago. So many happy memories.

  • Cool. Ok you’re on ignore.

  • Proper tea is theft .

(Owning your own home thread >>>>>>>> )

  • (also opens whole tea/dinner debate can of worms...)

I don't think he would have heard you

  • I don't think he would have heard you

If only there was a way to bypass such deliberate censorship of opposing views ;)

  • A quick google shows that unfortunately Seize the Beans Of Production has already been memed and monetised... Nothing so valuable to capitalism as jaded socialists.

Capitalism doesn't need overthrown anyway, just needs regulated. You know, like the EU are trying to do by shutting down offshore money laundering havens...

  • Why stop with the housing sector? When I bought my skinny soy-decaf dry-latte this morning, most of what I paid actually went towards rental of the coffee machine. I'm outraged at this social injustice! We should ban private coffee shops immediately except for state owned coffee distribution!

For somebody who has been precious about the perceived insensitivity to the opinions of Brexiters (and, of course, to your own opinions, as demonstrated just above), you're surprisingly happy to be a flippant cock about other opinions expressed here.

A sharp tongue and a thin skin isn't a smart combination.

  • No wonder they’re worried about nationalising things

  • Sterling crisis started already I see.

  • My bonus is paid in dollars- fuck all you guys! More winning!

  • What do you think of the big housing corporations/landlords?

Honestly, I think the rental sector it is best controlled and run by professional business.

They would be easier to regulate and be able to have the infrastructure to provide a decent level of service. They would also be more likely to have the capital and stability to move towards longer, stronger leases. They could use their economies of scale to weather lower profit margins on each property.

God forbid the state could even set up a competitive equivalent using its epic monopoly of scale.

  • A sharp tongue and a thin skin isn't a smart combination.

    What a fucking line.

  • Good grief.

All I have suggested is that everyone needs take a balanced, impartial view (including of their own biases) and work together to avoid brexit, collectively and in a nonpartisan way. I've taken a bunch of unjustified personal abuse, a lecture from a white person about racism and a Trotskyist diatribe. Honestly none of it has been very interesting or enlightening to me.

If you have anything actually valuable to contribute to this conversation, please go ahead, I'm all ears. If you just want to jump on the bandwagon of "burn the dissenting voice because he doesn't accept our groupthink" then please don't waste your time or mine.

In my bit of the financial services the regulations are written in the UK, issued through the EU and then largely ignored by everyone except the UK.
