Sadly, I think Alsal have stopped stocking Seiko. Still good for Junghans, Eterna, Mühle Glasshutte and Citizen though.
Really not sure about their persistence with Ventura. I really like the designs but it's a hell of a lot of money to spend on a basic digital watch. I mean, if you're looking for a mechanical digital hybrid, spring drive is the only choice right?

They were $15.00 on Amazon.com :-( Then the article was published, then they sold out. Still, £24.50 is fine by me.

If you have buy a cheap watch based on someone gushing over a picture of a world map, please don't buy through Amazon.

lol i got the silver one from ebay

Sorry, I couldn't find an ethical 100% sustainable fair trade human rights retailer selling it.
It was a choice between eBay sellers based in Hong Kong or Philippines, Amazon UK or DX.com in Hong Kong.

Is a cool map though huh? Yeah, exactly what Dan said. Went to three local Casio/G Shock stockists in Woking Town Centre on my lunch break and none of them had it either...

Amusingly, DX.com is so shady that they have a whole page on their site with info on what to do if they are selling counterfeit items of which you hold the IPR.

If you can read this from start to finish and not go straight to Amazon and buy one, then I congratulate you: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/casio-ae1200wh-1a-world-timer-value-proposition. Wasn't even aware of this watch. I fear this is the start of a G-Shock habit.
My number 1 watch, the one I wear daily, the one that is so good it stops me from considering other watches... is a G-shock.
The looks are not 100%, but the function and reliability, the accuracy, the knocks it has taken, the accidental immersions in the sea, the drops, and that I can neglect it for days or weeks and pick it up and it is still keeping perfect time.
It is so good it makes it very hard to consider anything else at any price point.
It does help that this is an analogue dial G-shock, but it's still a G-shock.
My perfect watch would be everything that this G-shock is... with perhaps a prettier case and strap. But it's so good, that I'm fine with the black hulk that it is.

Indeed. You can't argue with that. I think in a 'luxury watch' quartz is kind of strange, but in a G-Shock/something of it's ilk, it's just perfect.
You could always buy a bling bling version.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The best watches in my collection are digital Casio. Possibly an honourable mention to my new Seiko Digi-Tuna which is more or less equal to a g-shock IMHO.
When somebody asks me what the "best watch" I own is, I find it hard to answer anything other than the Casio F91w

Funny you should say that.
Same day at the bootsale. Two men turned up with a small van with tools they were selling. Mid morning the police turned up along with the owner. The van and it’s contents had been stolen recently. Cheeky buggers managed to get away.
@BRM I’ve been to deptford police station seven times. Once after a few drinks at the goldsmith tavern, on the insistence of a group of officers, once to report my bicycle being stolen and the other occasions to art events and to view a studio space there

Hard to justify this one though... -
• #28948
Anybody who would spend £5k on a watch with "Mr G" printed on the dial has problems.

gshocks are fine but let me fix this page with a wristshot :)

I walked past Alsal in town yesterday, and immediately thought of you.
