  • I love the Salsa, I love red, but I'm not convinced by the red details and tires on the Hooger

  • You hate it now. Wait till I put these on.

  • Sweet bikes man. That Salsa is gorgeous.

Anyone in the market for an XL 2017 Genesis Tarn Frameset?

My friend might be if you'll post! How much do you reckon? Will get back to you after I talk to him...

  • £300 posted. Need to raise funds for kona big honzo build.

  • Where are those pink chainring bolts from on the Hooger? Got some planning to do for a new build and those maybe fit perfectly...

  • Kcnc bolts I had in my spares box. I'd offer them for a fiver but they are not pink, they're deep red.
Check amazon, ebay, and superstar components. I'm sure that somewhere in China someone is knocking pink bolts at full steam.

  • For my next project. 1991 kona cinder cone preserved in thick coat of tat and rattle can. It's going to armourtex for sandblasting and clear coating as soon as I get the bb out. Should make for a nice utility bike with 8 speed lx, racks, and fenders. Or maybe a single speed rat with a coaster brake?

  • Try Steve @ Aurum Ltd ... can drop off / pick up via Sam @ Stayer Cycles.

    Armourtex prices went sky high

  • Thanks!
Yeah I remember doing 3 framesets for £80 with them few years back. Now they want £140 for one.

  • The stuff you pick up on ebay while browsing for bike unrelated content. What do I do with these? Never had hydro rim brakes.

  • Seen something like this before on a bike at Dirty Reiver. Looked crazy!

  • Nuts! Wonder if they are any better than cantis, aka the go slightly slower apparatus.

  • Definitely better than cantis. You definitely need some sort of booster apparatus, otherwise they just bend/flex your fork/stays

  • So that's why they were cheaper than all the other maguras on ebay.
Will the tektro booster be enough, or do I need it to be hydro specific?

  • £130 for sandblast and clear coat. Maybe vaz will be slightly cheaper.

  • Did it come with any other bits? You need the little clamps as well to actually attach them on to the brake pivot things

  • It's a whole set, but not here yet. As far as I can tell it's calipers, levers, hoses, olives, and the brackets for frame/fork. I'll just have to wait and see if I need anything else.

  • Bb is out and the frame is on the way to Aurum for a fresh start.

  • Looks sweet that frame. I am glad the tool worked!

  • It worked like a dream! Thanks again!

  • Clunker 1.05.
Hopefully those maguras get here before evaporust is done with my xt v brakes.

  • Its not the hubs, brakes or forks that are the issue. Get some closed cam QRs and they'll be fine.

  • Already done. It'll be even better with qr through axles. Which will become an option as soon as my new wheels are built.

  • Bullmoose off, maguras on. Into the rain to test their stopping power I go.

  • Prepping my t5g for yet another polish and degrease it dawned on me that I only took it out once in past 12 months.
Rode it to Gatwick to pick up stuff from Evans. On the hottest day of recent heat wave. On the way back ended up climbing Succomb's Hill. Almost passed out mid way. Took me a week to recover from the heat stroke.
All my memories of riding this bike are like that.
The time I went to ride on the river bed just pass Erith got stuck between rising water and an industrial park. Had to climb over multiple fences to get out. In cliples shoes. Ended up with torn bibs and knee injury.
That ride when I got lost in Kent downs on the way to Folkestone. Ended up riding through muddy fields and woodlands on 28mm tyres. Wrist injury, snapped spokes, Hutchinsons shredded to pieces.
London to Brighton off road. Snapped rim, shoulder injury.
Ride to Dover. Heat stroke, missed last train back...
No wonder I don't ride it. The bike shows how shit of a rider I am.
So I'm thinking of selling it. As is, t5g xl, hope bottom bracket, King headset, full hydro ultegra, novatec hubs laced to lb deep rims, thomson stem, carbon bars (can't remember what they are), use seatpost, 38cc g ones, and xt pedals. Plus ultegra road pedals, a set of 32cc g one,set of 28 schwalbe one, and low range rode ultegra cassette. And all of the road bits I have in my spares box.
I have no idea what to ask for it. They retailed for over £3500 with similar spec, but mine was built from the frame up. £2000? Or is that too much?
