I love this part of the season, Kopites at their best... #allyourdreamsaredeadinthewater

• #145928
It's like the 1970s all over again, apart from the fact that Liverpool aren't Champions.
-
• #145929
I sense genuine fear. The inevitable are the rocks which Chelsea are headed towards

• #145930
I'm gonna go put twenty quid on us winning the title now you've said that, Mike...
-
• #145931
Good odds at the moment. The bookies recognize a sinking ship when they see one. A disinterested owner, no stadium plans, an unsettled squad, no GK as of tomorrow. All looking rosy :D
-
• #145933
The hilarious thing is I'm always cautious at the start of a season... Then again we do actually manage to win the title every few years or so...
Which is nice...

• #145934
Whereas I know Liverpool stand no chance of winning it and never will in my lifetime and am resigned to that fact, but you have to smile through the gloom.

You're still backing Stoke after yesterday?
I know it's only one game, but it can't have got the confidence levels up too much.
-
• #145940
with a bit of luck, this year might be our year to move up to 3rd

• #145941
Ha yeah. Epic trolling of cuntface. You can see him going apoplectic over his cocopops this morning over that article.

I lost interest in that half way through when it became clear it was based on too many assumptions eg pens being scored and predicting how games would finish in different circumstances. That's not to say teams don't have runs of good/poor decisions. I'm still not convinced by VAR (not it's efficiency and excitement). When people say, "well, it would be stupid to use it for every decision such as throw ins etc" how many times do teams score from corners that should have been goal kicks? Do away with it I say, perhaps for everything except violent conduct

You and every other Liverpool supporter in this thread not named @MultiGrooves needs to grow a pair and acknowledge that this “is your year” that you “need to win the league” “win trophies” otherwise all the improvement, all the exciting football has been in vain. You spent the big transfer money to improve the side and add depth, now it’s time to win it all.
And none of this we’ll be lucky to achieve anything this season and reverse jinx bollocks.. -
• #145944
Also very relevant at the Toilet Bowl™, no?
-
• #145945
nah that was last year, or the year before that. And since we haven't spent in excess of £250m the spotlight has shifted hence article below.

Burnley seem to have signed Joe Hart. Three England keepers seems a bit of overkill.
Also got Ben Gibson which I'm pretty happy with (taking into account that everybody costs a bomb nowadays).
-
• #145947
You’d think one of them comes our way. Fingers crossed it won’t be Joe.

The battle for fourth will be between Chelsea and United.
There's enough muscle memory to get either to fourth regardless of the apparent lack of talent.
Also, it's only fucking everton etc.
I think THFC will bottle it.City

Arsenal
We have had an ideal preseason so far.
Narrow win over Perth.
Draw followed by penalty shoot out to Inter
Lost to Arsenal (shipping seven goals).
Slaughtered by Man City.
Three goals scored in four games. Conceded thirteen.
And now one more game and a few days of intensive transfer activity.
Far better for a new manager to expose the weaknesses in preseason than be given a false sense of security.
