Just unfold and go... I never roll the bike, I equally only lift it onto / off a train, or from a boot etc

As much as I can I do that, of course, but sometimes you're not allowed to roll a bike (shopping especially, tube, etc...) and sometimes it really helps, with the front bag open, used as a supermarket trolley. It's also more stable stationary with the rack. I love it and don't regret the extortionate cost of it.

Do you ever roll the bike folded in shops, train stations, airports etc... ? Much better with rack.
After nearly 10 years without I finally got a rack recently and I love it for that reason (and also because I had to carry stuff few times, less to worry about max load than on the front...)
Not very hip hop though...
