The plainest possible seaside town. Used to go there to shop when I was growing up living in Ashington (also fucking dull) because there was a TK Maxx and that has remained about the only point of merit ever since as far as I can see.
Shoreham-by-Sea is the only worthwhile town that side of Brighton in my experience

Do you know Worthing at all? I lived there a few years back out of necessity as I was a trainee and was working in Brighton at the time and Worthing was all I could afford - it's probably the most boring place I've ever lived in. It's utterly utterly unremarkable.
