You’re best off riding an S and an M. I’m your height and love the ride of the S but it’s like riding a lopro - front end is so low, anything beyond a few miles is uncomfortable. Doable, and fun (for short trips), but uncomfortable. M is a good functional height, and you can adjust reach a bit by tilting the bar forwards.
But yeah, get a ride on each bar, try your local Brompton dealer or the forum.
I had this on my s and then swapped the flat bars out for some risers and now have no issues with riding 6miles plus on it. 6 Miles plus at city riding pace, but will happily do Stockwell to Hammersmith on it..
