Nae Bother to Us 400 this coming weekend. It's been a slow start to my season getting in things longer than 200. Will be this season's first foray South of the boarder too!

Anyone riding 'Are EWE Abbey yet?' 600 this weekend?

Audaxers, have a question re Garmin and Strava. I'm planning on riding to Edinburgh next week and DIY'ing a 600k. Have booked a hotel in Thirsk for the first night allowing me around 5-6 hours sleep. Sensible to save garmin ride there and keep strava running on my phone?

Save it and stitch it together at a later date, better than losing it all (which Garmins can do when you approach/go-over 400k).
I did it back in 2009 over 3 days to recce the LEL route for the organiser and I went through Thirsk: https://www.strava.com/activities/163178655
Plenty of nonsense in that route including several wrong turns and what not. From memory:-
- Stay on the A7 between Longtown and Langholm - the road to the East is unnecessary hills
- Avoid the A66 from Middleton Tyas (go via Melsonby), otherwise (with the above deviation) the route North of there is lovely. I love the B709
- The visit to Coxwold is unnecessary, but the Howardian Hills are fun
- No need to visit the Thorne Travelodge (I stopped overnight there and at a B&B in Alston).
- Lincoln was a wander looking for some Fish & Chips
- The road through Ruskington was my least favourite road ever, and I'm not afraid of busy roads.
(GPS ran out of space on the run in to Edinburgh but to make it the right distance I had to carry on through to North Berwick and then get the train back in to Edinburgh, on St. Patrick's day.)

Oh wow, will have to put this on the list. The bit in north northumberland around eglingham/powburn/glanton is where I spent my younger life. Enjoy!

I started life at Haltwhistle so the bit along the Roman Wall / Military Road was really familiar territory - although I'd never cycled it. Had relatives at Wooler but they have died off so hadn't been there for decades.

Strong showing from team LFGSS. Particularly @jakemcree.
Hopefully add another couple of points myself this weekend... also need to squeeze in a 600 at some point in the next couple of months.

Few of us from ACH took the day off to ride Straight Outta Hackney today, heat made it killer, don't think I've ever drunk/poured so much water over my head in the UK before!

I had it in mind by aiming for my first SR this year. Wasn't able to finish a 600 due to injury, so booked another 600 for September. Depending how that goes it'll be yay or nay for pbp

Yep, I regret not doing it last time round.

Oh I'd like to do this but I'm working that day, maybe I'll pinch the gpx and do it myself sometime after..

Gonna try, first time.
Rode the Man of Kent again yesterday but out and back this time bringing it to 300.
Wasn't paying attention and downloaded an old route quite different to the calander one I rode earlier in the year :)
Still a nice trip to Sandwich and Dymchurch.
