Bjorn had longer - something like 11 hours.
It appears that he was just exhausted and needed a good rest. Shortly after stopping he had lost the lead so maybe he didn't have the motivation to have an early start knowing there was nothing he could do against the skinny machine! It does look like it is following last year's pattern very closly now. Expect Skinny to chase hard, probably aiming to beat his 2017 time while Bjorn will probably fade, in relative terms, to come in second, but maybe a day behind Skinny.
Looks like skinny is 275km in front of Björn and had maybe 4 hours of rest whereas Björn had something like 7.
275km is quite a lot of cycling.
