Just found this site.Having recently acquired a 1978 Vigorelli which I thought that I would ride in Time Trials next Season.we shall see, as I Have not ridden a Fix for over 30 years. The last time I rode a Time Trial on a Fix was in the 1950s on a Holdsworth Zephyr. I had a Superlite which I sold about 5 years ago but I did not seem to get on with it.

Hi - I have a vintage Mercian frameset for sale. It's a welded frame ref 5085,so from 1950 - if my understanding of the numbering system is correct. Grateful for clarification on the point. Any interest on here?

Mercian and Super C is a classic combination.
Is it?

Going to post this in classifieds at some point but thought it worth showing it to Mercian lovers first. 58 seat (ctt) and 57 top (ctc). It seems the going rate is around £400. But let me know if you think otherwise. Any thoughts / questions appreciated.

That is a lovely looking colour.
I paid £400 for Vincitore Tourer. Add as much credence as possible and the number doesn't seem far off. -

Was riding along the coast in kent today. Saw someone on a Mercian. Said "nice bike!" as I passed. They said "thanks!".
An incredible story I'm sure you'll agree.

Cool story bro. 😉
My Mercian gets far more appreciative comments than any of my other bikes and often from people that aren't cyclists. It just stands out as a piece of great craftsmanship. All that considered I'm thinking about selling it. But every time I clean it to take photos I just can't part with it.

What appears to be an early Mercian Superlight under the unimaginative paint.
Collection only in Aylesbury.

Got this from a work colleague on a Yammer for sale group today. Too small for me, but it may fit a mate or my sister, or I may tidy it up and pass it on. He had it build new in 2000 and it was in a magazine allegedly for a road test, which the seller is trying to dig out. 531C, Good condition, lots of campag, brakes set up US /switch style randomly, and it had a new record headset put in 200 miles ago. Not used much he was saying.
anyone know what model it is please?

@TheShipwright yeah they do! Found it on the website https://www.merciancycles.co.uk/online-shop/home/mercian-frame-search/?v=79cba1185463
Lovely!
As I said up the thread somewhere, I'm still to see a Mercian that doesn't ooze class and quality......
