Yep, with a lot of exercise I can see it may be fine - I have no expertise on this but 11l seems a shitload - in weight it's like 11KG. Be interested to see what sort of volumes of fluids other riders are consuming.
Also, Bernd Paul seems to have stopped/hit a snails pace for most of the day. Tracker issues, or is he resting?
My first wife once had a fit from drinking too much water (trying to combat side effects from drugs she had to take).
11l should be ok if he drunk it spread over the day and had enough electrolytes.
If he necked 3-4 litres at once, that would cause issues.
