Big congratulations to Thomas. I know I said it was dull, but it was great to see him attack and take yellow, and also attack in yellow for the stage. He so so deserves it. Looking forward to watching some emotional interviews when I find some reliable internet.

I wonder what his plans for next season are, and how they fit with froomes.

What would happen if the yellow jersey went down on the Champs d'Elysee? I assume it would all stop. What if he broke something though?

Not sure what the rule book says, but I suspect the GC would be neutralised, everyone would be awarded the same time and whoever wins the stage, wins the stage.

Decent Tour on the whole but not a classic. Shame Porte and Nibali weren’t there to contest it at the sharp end.

Dumoulin losing time plus his penalty on stage 6(?) took some pressure off Sky but Thomas was unflappable and it’s hard not to like someone who attacks in the jersey.

Dan Martin goes further up in my estimation and I’d marry Alaphilippe.
