  • Thanks @jgadd

    In addition:
Recommendations welcomed for a bivvy bag - hoping to leave the tent at home given it weighs 3.5kg - plus only got single night trips planned. Needs to fit me (6'6"). Something like this seems ok. But then this is cheaper and slightly longer. But will it just turn me into a boil in the bag sweaty mess?

Alternatively this seems like a mega bargain. All the other listings of this are around £100+ Not sure its long enough though. 225cm long with pointy ends suggests I'd be getting a wet head or feet.

Also sleeping bag liners seem like a good idea. Should I get one?

Potentially only using these things for less than 5 nights/year. Possibly less.

just buy the cheapest thing possible

  • That snugpak is well cheap. I have one and it's decent enough for the money, if a little bit sweaty and lacking in breathability.

Suspect it's either listed wrongly or fake, but can dispute if it's the latter. Either way 27 quid is a small enough amount for me to take a punt on it so I've bought a second one for my missus

Depends on sleeping bag IMO. Cheap synthetic bag - don't worry, you can just wash the bag; expensive down bag - yes, it'll stay warm and clean for longer. Also if you're going to be in it for a week or longer (doesn't sound like it) get one
