Taylor Phinney ran off the road into a tree and broke his nose.
There’s a rider who deserves better
But yeah I guess the team got nothing except bruises :(

Roglic is perhaps the world most boring interviewee
-

I really get annoyed by Carlton, or ‘C’ as I like to call him, but I was talking to some older family friends who are keen cyclists and found it interesting that they don’t mind him, but think Rob Hatch is annoying as he is ‘always shouting’.

Dan Martin mentioned it as well when he was interview straight after the finish. Maybe there was something in it..

Lol >_<

Kruiswijk twice towed Froome back to the leaders group when he threatened Roglic's podium position. I don't understand how that makes sense-conventional tactics would be For Lotto to distance him and spread Sky's resources by forcing Bernal to do it.
can someone pls explain why?

Move up GC himself? If he was outside top 10 he probably would have interfered, but he moved up to 5th yesterday.

Those skinsuit sleeves
-

At least he is running the bionic cleat system.
-

Really surprised he hasn’t got a Castelli made one with all the correct yellow jersey branding.

ASO supply the yellow jersey. Them's the rules.

I think it happens every year that the rider in yellow has to wear the crappy UCI one. Does seem like a kick in the teeth.
Chris Boardman should do an A B test in the wind tunnel, comparing it with a proper Sky one, fitted to Thomas.

Considering the length of his big toe, something something something...

The normal stage jersey looks much better quality, that’s what made me think maybe they are able to substitute. Seems odd spending all that money on jersey and suit design then getting something that looks like it’s been knitted by Hinault’s nan.

Yellow jersey gains > Aero gains

Just checked the standings and great to see that Lawson Craddock is a shoe-in for the Lanterne Rouge. A fantastic effort given his injuries (he raced 1/2 a stage fully fit) and he’s raised $140k to boot. Not sure anyone will want #13 next year though.
Also just noticed G is #8, does he have any Chinese heritage I wonder? -

I was thinking about this too... very interesting numberstuff going on.

You'd be wrong. Double digit watts, easily
-
• #2870
Yep
-
• #2871
I’m unsure if you are serious...Can you elaborate?
-
• #2872
Serious. Skinsuits have a major effect on CDA.
-
• #2873
I don’t doubt that.
-
• #2874
Not sure. It may have been more important in their minds to have an extra man for Roglic (if they wanted the ability to do the 1-2 kinda attack).

Skinsuit grouptest. Suggests up to 25w difference from best in class to a basic skinsuit.
You would imagine the sponsor skin suit would be better than a basic skinsuit, but perhaps not, so G might be having to work with a fairly significant aero decifit.
Sky have most likely aerotested it multiple times for both Froome and G so that they can tailor it as best as possible.
Dumoulin himself says he kind of expects this
