Lol. Simple mechanics says the lighter they are, the less stiff they'll be, as long as the diameter stays the same. 31.8mm bars tend therefore to be stiffer per weight, but also heavier overall as they run into the limit of wall thickness being too thin relative to diameter to resist buckling. The really light 26.0mm bars, on the other hand, are noodles.
Pick the shape you like and ignore the weight, being comfortable easily trumps the 200g maximum difference between a seriously porky bar and a worryingly light one.
Sorry if this has been raised before but can anybody recommend any lightweight, stiff aluminium handlebars?
Recently picked up a CAAD7 frame & trying to get it sub 7kg.
