I want to switch to a flat bar set up and see how I get on with it. I'm a bit irked by the non compatibility of the Tiagra 4700 shifters and will also take the opportunity to install an XT M772 RD that will allow me to use a larger cassette.
That said, I'd like to do the changes on a budget and would value some suggestions!
I'm thinking of having bar end shifters fitted on thumbies (probably not paul's because $$$, but maybe the jtek variety instead). Although my set up is 1x10, I thought I might be able to source older bar-ends and use them in friction mode. Any reasons not to do this?
I also really like these nitto B2522AA bars, but they quickly become expensive in the 31.8 version. Any thoughts on similar, more affordable, bars with a bit of sweep back and maybe some rise?
