That region around the Tarn River Gorge is fantastic, holidayed there briefly, but would love to go back.

The Ardeche is a fantastic and relatively un-touristed* area. Spent a couple of weeks there wishing I had a bike with me every day.

My parents have a place in the Lot region so we've spent a lot of time heading out that way. Great on a motor or pedal bike and very quiet in comparison to a lot of other places in France.

I cycled the Gorge d'Ardeche (D290) as part of a mini tour a few years ago, can confirm that it's absolutely brilliant. If you do it from east to west, the last few kilometres are basically a ramp straight off the mountain down to the water. Hardly any traffic too.

Dunno why I rushed back to see this stage.

More a drift across the road than a swerve - subtle enough to get away with.

I couldn't tell if Laporte was pissed off with Demare's line or the fact that he nearly smacked him in the face with his celebration.

He must be pleased he saved all that energy by riding on the roof of the team car yesterday.
