That region around the Tarn River Gorge is fantastic, holidayed there briefly, but would love to go back.

I enjoy the quiet-time French countryside chat. Wasn't Liggett good with his birds?!
-
• #2608
except they weren't storks

Yeah, little bit further than Corsica...
Do an early rest day like in the Giro and Israel. They could also go to Guadaloupe, but not enough roads.

The Ardeche is a fantastic and relatively un-touristed* area. Spent a couple of weeks there wishing I had a bike with me every day.
- quite a lot of dutch but barely any brits.

The Ardeche
This.
My parents have a place in the Lot region so we've spent a lot of time heading out that way. Great on a motor or pedal bike and very quiet in comparison to a lot of other places in France.

I cycled the Gorge d'Ardeche (D290) as part of a mini tour a few years ago, can confirm that it's absolutely brilliant. If you do it from east to west, the last few kilometres are basically a ramp straight off the mountain down to the water. Hardly any traffic too.

Dunno why I rushed back to see this stage.

Demare with a dodgy line
-
• #2616
Looked dodgy to me
-
• #2617
will demare get demoted for that swerve at the end?
Millar doesn't seem to think so.. -
• #2618
What’s his nationality?
-
• #2619
More a drift across the road than a swerve - subtle enough to get away with.

I couldn't tell if Laporte was pissed off with Demare's line or the fact that he nearly smacked him in the face with his celebration.
He must be pleased he saved all that energy by riding on the roof of the team car yesterday.

He's Scottish.

Thanks.

You're very welcome.

Jono HB just called Froome a superdomestique. No idea how he said it without a chuckle.
