Did you take a picture of the pothole and the damage? Is it a thing that you can claim some of the cost of the wheel back off the council...?
I hit a nasty pot hole the other day which put a hole in my tyre. In retrospect I was thinking I should have recorded it and made enquiries. Brand new tyre and inner tube so particularly annoying but not as bad as a cracked rim
