• I'd like to get a mtb. The first one I will have had since I was a teenager, at which time I never had an expensive bike but was still happy throwing a cheap alloy hardtail down drops and over jumps.
It would live in London for occasional off road trips out of town and next year when I move and downsize it will go to live at my parents in Shropshire where there's plenty of varied riding.
I'm after an "all-mountain" enduro type thing. Wouldn't mind a hard tail though but I've never had a full bouncy bike and I would like one.
There's a 2015 Jekyll frame on ebay but on checking sold prices it doesn't seem a great deal considering dents and no fork . I'd be very happy with a Jekyll as a cannondale fanboy but I'm after suggestions for similar frames. Frame or frame & fork only as budget won't allow full build initially and I like building my own anyway. 2nd hand and only a few hundred quid ideally.

(I'd be looking at alloy, not carbon)

  • While the Jekyll is undoubtably a cool bike, I'm not sure I'd want to have a proprietary pull-shock without a shop warranty to back it up...

Mid-travel 29er seems to be where it's at for versatility, fun, and not making everything you ride this side of a downhill track a bit dull. That said, I think you're going to struggle to come under budget for a full suspension frameset. The best deals are to be had complete.

Might be worth taking a punt on this: https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2398153/
