A lot has changed..
Brakes a few times, brake levers, shifters, bars/stems of the m/h types, rims, tyres, cranks/bb, folding pedal, flat pedal etc.
No reason not to upgrade your unless you want to have all new. If you can get it on the cyclescheme it well worth it, also consider the 2 speed option over 3, much lighter, still a good range, 1 for cruising 1 for climbing for example. or 1 for speed 1 for more speed!

Anyone use the quick release pedals?
-
• #4556
fitted and sold lots of them, deal with MKS / TPW ones on a daily basis, what do you wanna know?
-
• #4557
How easy are they to take on and off and are the lighter than the stock pedals?
-
• #4558
Super easy! just push in the locker and pop the pedal out, then you can get an axle mounted holder - https://www.instagram.com/p/Bhg19pdg9PU/?taken-by=sjscycles
so; Brompton pair of pedals = 410grams
MKS compact - 304grams - both removable
TPW double x - 239grams - both removable
TPW double x - 222grams - lh removable
TPW mini - 192grams - lh removable
TPW mini - 208grams - both removable -

Last question... Where can I get a black 50t 3/32 144bcd chainring that isn't a Blackspire? Pretty thin on the ground it would seem... Generic is fine but preferably like this and not the fat Zen style ring..

144bcd? for which cranks?

I have TPW mini - both removable - on mine.
In practice I only remove the left one.
It mounts and sits quite securely on the rh brake lever when everything's folded.
You might consider removal of both pedals as an additional security measure....
ETA - after a couple of years of light use, the bearing feels very f*cked (it is watchmaker tiny) . I'll be replacing the pedals with something different... a bit more robust... I have some MKS removeables in the spares bin.... -

Sugino 75s...

Ah! Makes sense now, only know of 1/8th ones other than blackspire, get bespokedchainrings to make you one?
-
• #4566
I might be able to find a 3/32 Dura Ace chainring but £$€¥!!!
-
• #4567
Definitely recommend them if weight loss is what you are after.
The Brompton folding pedal is a boat anchor.
In terms of longevity........ not so clever. -

sorry, being slow ... not black.. but still

Dunno what chainset you are using, but if it has a slight recess before the pedal thread starts (like the Alfine does), you may have to fit a washer between the QR and the crank arm - otherwise too much of the QR disappears into crank arm, making it impossible to pull back the release sleeve sufficiently for it to release the pedal. If the pedal thread starts from the outer face of the crank arm, you'll be fine.
Oh, and a cone spanner (15mm) was the only spanner I could find that was thin enough to slot onto the very, very thin flats for tightening the QRs. -

Maybe and I maybe bromptoning too.

Er, the three speed sturmey archer is the best.

I've seen few times baby front seats for Brompton (not the pere ones, definitely baby carrier type) but didn't catch the brand. Google's only pointing towards US market, mega expensive... Any suggestion? We've got a yepp mini on the tandem, if I could attach it to the Brompton it would be perfect...
Vaguely mulling either upgrading my single speed to a three speed, or selling it and buying a new bike on cycle scheme. Mine’s probably about 8-9 years old, bought second hand - are there any major improvements in the new bikes to make replacing it worthwhile, or should I just go for the new wheel and shifter?
