What seems to be the matter?

IQ-X is flickering instead of sending out a steady beam. And it's so bright outside I wasn't able to tell if the rear light was working. The button on it has always been a little dodgey, but it's not working properly atm. I fear it may be slightly fucked.

Well I've got a spare front B+M light sitting at home, which is sort of on the way to Chingford, so we could use it to salvage your ride if the shop cannot fix yours. Keep me posted!
