If someone else had done it, they'd probably have been left off
Like Sagan was last year?
-
• #1828
I’d say that’s about right but guys like Rowe might struggle to move up so easily.
It’ll be bonkers on that climb but much depends on how wide the road is. I have no idea.
Expect there’ll be a few missing the time cut.

And if he wasn't such a good rider he might well have been sacked by now but, hey, that's snooker for you.

• #1830
They have them sprinter hands firmly in the car windows.

I'll be joining the French with sky boo-ing. Fuck em. Racist, bully apologists.
-
• #1832
I'm just amused at how in some people's minds the narrative has twisted so that Sky-with all their budget, influence, victories, inflammatory PR, Parliamentary reports and generous WADA verdicts-are now somehow being unfairly set upon by the nasty French commissaires even when someone like Moscon who has ample priors and was caught on camera is the proponent.
Clearly the booing is profoundly damaging.

What an idiot. Hasn’t learnt his lesson. Fired or not doubt he’ll be at the tour again. Froome will be pissed off with him as the need the firepower.

Not getting any better for Dimension Data either with Pauwels out after breaking his elbow in that crash near the finish.
-
• #1835
Don’t lean, punch
-
• #1836
From the footage, it was an angry gesture, look at the rider he ‘hit’ and there is literally no reaction.
I hate racism and machismo, but if that’s the evidence I’m not convinced.

Don’t agree. He endangered every rider behind and slightly off to the side by being unpredictable.
Kicking him out of the race is entirely justified.
-
• #1838
I'm on the fence. Stupid thing to do, but there didn't seem to be much in it. We don't appear to know what provoked it either, but by the tone of Sky's press release, it can't have been much.
On the endangering other riders, how many actual crashes have been caused by rider error this tour? There seems to be about 3-4 a day causing many injuries and retirements. No one been kicked out because of any of them, but one guy does something that doesn't cause a crash and he's out on his ear. Just sayin.

PR seems to be working!

Obviously the difference is this is a deliberate and avoidable action.
It’s also relatively simple to remove, by getting rid of riders who consistently can’t keep their shit together.

How did you arrive at that conclusion? I read it and I get the exact opposite impression. No complaints, no talk of taking it to CAS like Sagan. I must be missing something.

Ah. Thought my grasp of the English language had left me.
In other news Kittel and Martin looking to escape Katusha. Hope they join future BMC/CCC and turn it into a rival Quickstep classics force. They'll probably end up at Dimension Data tho...

• #1844
Yeah, not very clear. If Moscon had been full on abused by the other guy, Sky may have leapt to his defense.
-
• #1845
ah! thanks
-
• #1846
I bet Barguil is pissed off, any chance he had of winning a stage has now gone.
-
• #1847
Who will take Moscon if Sky let him go?
Theres obviously been talented riders before with questionable attitude, but not so much drama in such a short time.E.g. Cavendish clashed, it seemed with everyone for a while, but then that was when he basically won everything, whereas Moscon is obviously incredibly talented, but hasn't brought in the results (not that Sky have used him as such very often)
-
• #1848
Sky will use these cases to lower Moscon's pay, they will not let him go
-
• #1849
A smaller team, you will get a talented rider for less than market rate. Happens in other sports all the time.

Anyone who wants a big engine and a potential talent who's probably not on the sauce. He's 54th in the UCI world rankings, just below Martin and Aru.
Storm in a teacup.
Sky PR puff piece. Doesn't seem like they have any issue with it.
