I got a cetma style made by Leo of dmenor bikes as the tu was out of stock. It's been real good and I think a fair few have them. I don't like the new tu style very much.

Yeah I think they changed them so they weren't exact copies. Cetma is so expensive and apparently over a year behind on orders...
That's an idea, can I ask how much it set you back? -
• #629
It was either 80 or 09 I think . Turn around was week or so which was fast

Cool, I'll send him an email, thanks

met a guy a few times on the street with a d'menor rack on his inbred. it looked bloody nice

Trying to fit a Nitto M12 and the tabs are in the wrong place for old-style cantis. Any ideas how to fit it? It's out by quite a lot, I don't think bending the bar going back to the crown will work. Can you even fit additional things to these kind of brakes...?

Maybe a bit of steel with a hole on each end, to bridge the gap?
-
• #634
actually the strut going to the crown seems quite easy to bend so might give that a go... next question - is there a cheaper alternative to these?

Sadly no .. I researched quite a bit but you have mafac so you won't need them(?)
-
• #636
Oh? I need some kind of longer bolt, but maybe it can be quite ordinary. I'm just being lazy, I suppose I'll take it apart and find out...
-
• #637
I think you will need these: http://freshtripe.co.uk/velo-orange-canti-brake-rack-mounting-bolts/

thanks!
(Edit: I took off one of the bolts, and indeed the velo orange ones look perfect, assuming the size is standard (5mm?), plus the brake did not spring apart) -

don't bend it.
I had one, bent it a little way. fine for 1 year then snapped off in my hand one morning.
nitto stuff isn't made to be bent. -

Hurm. Ok, thanks.
I don't really understand the spacing/sizing... I think the older canti mounts are a bit narrower spaced, but surely the height to crown just varies depending on your fork? So it's just luck if the rack fits? Frustrating, it looks so much neater than the M18. -
• #641
yeah, it's a lot of luck involved.

Has anyone used the Pelago Utility rack? Wondering how it compares to the Commuter as I’m just looking to use the platform.
-
• #643
@frankenbike have you still got that Lomo bag? Are you using it? I could be interested in it if not
-
• #644
Still using it, enjoying it though and recommend it.
Will warn you that I've not tried any fancy Restrap/Carradice bags so don't have much to compare to. I think the biggest difference would be in the mounting, I have to do 6 buckles to attach or detach it but that doesn't really bother me personally as I only do it twice a day.
Maybe @damitamit still has his? He swapped it for a Restrap I think

No worries, cheers. I’m interested in it for the back of the motorbike rather than a front rack so more straps is better

I have a Pickenflick, with carbon fork and no eyelets. I'd like to use a front rack.
To me the fork seems quite solid and heavy (550gr)
I know many people say to get a Cromo or Alu fork; but did anyone try this solution by Blackburn:This could be a great solution for my bike.
I am very curious if anyone has tried this, or something similar! -
• #647
the utility rack is Alu, where the commuter is stainless.
The commuter also has a several mounting options, whereas it looks like the utility has to mount to the axle.
I've had the commuter rack for more than a year and a half and it is a seriously nice piece of kit. -

Trying to source a cheap silver front rack, like this one
Soma do one but can't find it in any european shops. Anyone?

Bit dearer than the one you pictured.

They have 15% off at the mo as well
Any recommendations for a Cetma 5-rail style rack, attaching to skewer and bars? Currently looking at one from TU, just wondering if anyone has used one or has a better suggestion
