I guess you probably have plastic bottles in the uk and you are talking about those, haha.Yup, standard plastic bottle. Got a nice 1L Kilner bottle but it was annoying only being left with 800ml or so after filtering. So using a standard 2L milk/juice bottle did the job.

I guess you probably have plastic bottles in the uk and you are talking about those, haha.
Seriously though I just used 1L glass carafes, like the ones for ice tea, that fit in the door of your fridge. Didn't even bother to filter afterwards.
Then I got two large french press thingies and used that for one summer, 'twas very convenient.
I did stop doing cold brew eventually when I realized I was drinking 1,5 liters of very strong coffee every day, which is, you know, too much.
