• Can you both still reach the machines with them on risers like that?

  • I have a stool.

  • Did I see an Isen in Oxford today? Or was I dreaming. I also seem to own one of these frames now...looking forward to eventually building it.

  • I assumed mine would be that last one still waiting to be built.

    Soon, soon....

  • Mine was a late acquisition...and I'm slightly nervous about the budget now. But I'm playing the long game.

  • Must have been someone else I guess but I was riding mine in Oxford on Wednesday.

  • Spotted an Isen yesterday evening riding home between Elephant and Castle and Oval, what a beauty. Think it had something like Sram eTap and Hunt wheels. Someone from here?

  • @dommyracer I suspect.

  • Did I see an Isen in Whaley Bridge in the Peak District today? Outside the bakery at about 5ish.

  • So, after about 14months of having the n012 frameset. I’ve finally made the plunge and built it! Life and a new A5 got in the way.

It needs the chop but I’m pleased, I’ve done 150miles now and it is the best bike I’ve ridden.

Just a question, has anyone had issue with the paint? I’ve seemed to have gotten quite a few chips/flakes rather easily.

  • Just came here to say thanks for building a great bike. I've done my first randonneur series on it, and lots of other fun stuff like a solo 1000k ride, circa 500 boring commutes and a couple of excursions with my son in his trailer. Rode some gravel today, mudguards will be put on soon.

How do you find etap HRD? (Keen more on the HRD bit)
Front light ID? Mounted on a garmin with GoPro mount?
What do you use on audaxes to eat from? Some sort of bikepacking bag?

  • The HRD bit have been great. Haven't touched them since installation and they still feel great. I've replaced one broken front mech and one rear so the Etap bit, I dunno, maybe I've just been unlucky, most seem happy with it. One thing to keep in mind is that a 38mm rear tire sits really close to the front mech, I wouldn't recommend it. 35mm slick is max for Etap.

Front light is Sinewave Beacon mounted on Wahoo mount with GoPro mount and a Supernova adapter. Great light with the best usb charging I've tried. It will flicker at low speed though (you can connect it to a battery to get around this). Rear light from Son.

I've got Mack stem bags and a top tube bag that I've used on the longer brevets. But I find that since I bought Rapha cargo bibs I don't need them as much. Downside of the position of the light is that I can't use a handlebar bag. I first tried mounting a Son light on the mudguard but it was awful. I dunno how people make that work, that thing was all over the place.

  • @coldharbour Is there still the opportunity to purchase the R3 at the 'first 30' price?

  • Norfolkbound are you running 700c/38’s tubeless? If so how are you finding them?

  • Unlikely, but anyone selling their Isen all season 57cm ???

  • ah, I'm unfortunately selling a 55.

  • Hmm for how much? Not that I'll be allowed to buy it as I've just bought a Talbot but nice to know!

  • That's over, but there still is (and will be in perpetuity) an LFGSS discount, drop me an email. Apologies for being a bit quiet on here recently, have had some family issues, car exploded, blah blah blah. If you've dm'ed and not heard ill try work through them now, but you can also email hello@isenworkshop.com and get through to someone much more competent.

  • Email me your fit stuff, but dependent on your current bike @cake s bike may make more sense. His bike has actually been in our care as well, so warranty is transferable from you to him.

  • Looks gorgeous. Full disclosure re: paint. We spend a lot of money on the best (nastiest) paints we can get our hands on, the primers and lacquers are all southern polyurethane 2ks. However, they are still not as hard as anything you can get in the far east, old school enamel etc.. Its something we are trying to work on, but (I think) the likes of @hoops, Dan @ Cole (who uses southern poly as well I think) etc would agree finding really hard wearing paint is a challenge.

  • What do we want?

    LEAD

    Moar LEAD pls

  • Didn’t realise you had a Talbot and an Isen.

    #buyer

  • Wouldn't that be quite heavy?

  • You don’t buy steel frames for levity
