Had a clicking noise in the right pedal, and couldn’t work it out what it was, pretty maddening.
Inspected the cleat, and the blue cleat shim had warped and somehow made a circular clicky button that would ‘activate’ when I was putting more force in the pedals.
At least it’s not the cranks, bottom bracket or pedals this time!

Anyone got a black dust cap (zero) they’d sell me?

Anyone got one spare Coffee Cover I could buy/have? I lost one of mine!

For the original cleats? Yes, somewhere.

Sure. Light Action but don't see a difference... have enough spare.. brand-new in their orignal Speedplay packaging.. just postage (probably 3.20 or 3.70 EUROs worldwide for a pair)..

Anyone interested in a set of Titanium X2?

Is there any difference in stack height between the v2 cleats and the walkable Zero cleats?
I need to replace another C spring and I'm running out so might need to do the whole cleat.

• #1009
Maybe - how much?

• #1010
So I got them for 100 off of bikeradar being told they’re zeros. Then seller not responding.
Would be happy if I can recoup 80.

Is there any difference in stack height between the v2 cleats and the walkable Zero cleats?
Why sure there be? Basically they just slightly modified the metal top bit and added a plastic walkable top. The retention mechanism is unchanged-- like adding a Keep on Kover to a V2 (which differed from the v1 only, I think, in the adapter plate for 3 hole shoes).

Hmmm - just checked and realised they aren't compatible with my existing cleats which would mean separate shoes - so I'll pass. Thanks though

I have no idea, that's why I asked. They appear to be a completely different cleat so there's every possibility stack height may have been altered.
Better comparison

Walkable cleats have something like 4mm less stack height than a normal Zero cleat
-
• #1015
The stack height is determined by the height of the black 3-4hole adapter/shim thing.
If they changed the height of the yellow part or the c-spring it wouldn't engage properly. The height of the retaining metal piece is lower - but that has no effect on the stack height.Holding my v2 3-4 hole adapter up to aero one they appear to be the same height.

They've changed every part. I don't know how though, which is why i ask. Obviously they can't do too much coz it has to work with existing pedals but you never know with a redesign if they've found a way to remove a bit here and there. Stack height same = good. I can't find any V2s to replace mine with so it looks like I've gotta cough up the £50 for these stupid cleats.
-
• #1017
The overall height has changed, but the actual stack - ie how far it causes the sole of your shoe to sit above the axle hasn't.
-
• #1018
I understand the concept of stack.
Regardless, you might find you need to drop your saddle 3-5mm if you swap from zero to walkable
-
• #1019
Hang on.
There's either a stack height difference or there isn't.
Either you understand where this difference is or you don't.The cleat is taller, yes, but only because the plastic shit around it exists. This new cleat, according to the others at least, does not change the stack height, how far the bottom of my shoe is from the axle.

• #1020
So, any more opionions, is there a stack height difference in the walkables or not?
-
• #1021
From Speedplay
" THE LOWEST STACK HEIGHT: The Zero cleat positions your foot closer to the top of the spindle for improved power transfer.
11.5 mm stack height for 3-hole mounting
8.5 mm stack height for 4-hole mountingNo mention of cleat type changing stack height.

Perhaps the issue i have encountered a few times is the difference between V1 and V2 adaptor plates
I know the only change from V1 to V2 is the adaptor plate - Walkable carries over the V2 adaptor plate which should give you the same stack as V2 in theory.

Perhaps the issue i have encountered a few times is the difference between V1 and V2 adaptor plates
V1 vs V2 was just the curvature of the adapter plates. They switched to offer the V2 adapter to better fit with its contemporary generation of shoes. On a Time shoe-- 4 hole bore-- there is no difference between V1 and V2 since one does not use the plates. With look bored shoes.. If your shoes had a good fit with the V1 adatpers they would continue to be the better fit.

Actually I'm not sure which shoes have what. I know I had v1 on some but I bought a few v2s as well. Fucksake. Stupid Speedplay and their stupid cleats, with their stupid c-springs.

Anyone got Chinese contacts that can make me C-Spring copies since Speedpray won't?
Their lawyers are coming, I can hear them already...
Re: Titanium aftermarket spindles - what options would people recommend outside of ebay/aliexpress/taiwan? Saw them for sale on Dulight.fr and torontocycles, but unsure if these are the same product
