• Yup, this guy is the main driving force! Wow. So light, much fun.

You're right though @platypus the spec is mediocre. And that's what i'm finding with a lot of bikes. The Epic Comp Carbon being a fine example, Reba on a £3500 bike??

I simply want a decent pedalling bike that can be fun. I got scared off long travel stuff with a SC Tall Boy LTC which I had and it was too much bike.

And what is with these bloody dinner plate cassettes on everything? I currently run 34 up front 36 on the rear and there is nothing I can't tackle. So any bike I do get will need to have the capacity to run a 36 so i can show how manly I am...

Pic of current Yeti Big Top included so i feel like i'm at least contributing to this thread :)

well, it's right there in your post. what's wrong with that bike? will pedal well and be fun.

if you want more fun, add a dropper, shorten the stem a bit, and put on some tyres with a bit more bite

Loads of options here - from silly forked hardtails to 27.5 FS trail-lite to short travel 29er XC / Trail crossovers. I wouldn't get a pure 100mm FS XC bike for this though.
