    Focus on the fun factor. Think about your use of it.

    I originally had an S1E singlespeed two years ago when I was commuting about 5km each way to work - was a shitload of fun and I even raced it at the Nocturne.

    I then bought a 2speed with guards as my commute increased and I thought it’d be nice that my gf could use it.

    Within a month I’d stripped the gears off and the guards as the gears were shit and unpredictable in their functionality and the mudguards were so flimsy I was fearful of breaking them.

    S1E with Kojaks is THE ONE for me.

    I use it every day, and a lot a weekends, but then I won’t ride it more than 15km and I certainly won’t ride it in the rain.

    It very much depends on your reliance and use of it as a transport necessity or a fun option to commute. I’m lucky that if it rains or I CBA I can jump on bus/tube/train and travel almost as efficiently, although nowhere near as enjoyably.
