minimal but usable is a 2 speed, going up to the 3 or 6 speed hub add a lot of weight. Racks suck, go for the FCB and a decent bag, the bike handles better, any luggage can stay on most of the time, you fold the back wheel under, any of the rack gets squished!
My other half has a m6l+ little human, loves it, - little human and she would have an m2 - with the Joeseph kuosac mid rise bars to make it a bit lower.
Just go test ride all the options work out what you like!

You can’t make a brompton much lighter without really spending some serious $.
Focus on the fun factor. Think about your use of it.
I originally had an S1E singlespeed two years ago when I was commuting about 5km each way to work - was a shitload of fun and I even raced it at the Nocturne.
I then bought a 2speed with guards as my commute increased and I thought it’d be nice that my gf could use it.
Within a month I’d stripped the gears off and the guards as the gears were shit and unpredictable in their functionality and the mudguards were so flimsy I was fearful of breaking them.
S1E with Kojaks is THE ONE for me.
I use it every day, and a lot a weekends, but then I won’t ride it more than 15km and I certainly won’t ride it in the rain.
It very much depends on your reliance and use of it as a transport necessity or a fun option to commute. I’m lucky that if it rains or I CBA I can jump on bus/tube/train and travel almost as efficiently, although nowhere near as enjoyably.
Just about to pick up a Brompton on the Cycle To Work scheme.
Torn between a totally minimal 1 speed with no mudguards and a fully loaded six speed with rack. The two kgs difference doesn't feel like it'd be very much difference to me. Any advice?
