no, don't buy a pole. instead use:
- any decent length branch
- a tree
- your bike handlebars
- pipes on the side of a building
you get the idea..

Did you buy a pole?
I’ve used this tarp with a walking pole at one end. It was ok.
There is a pocket-thing stitched in to hold a pole centrally. I want to try this but a walking pole is actually a bit long to do this (when setting up for a bit for wind).
Are there shorter telescopic poles that’d work?

Forgot the tarp needs a walking pole as well. (Silly me ) May order one or see if I can get away with a branch .
