• I built @Cycliste some lightweight wheels using Bitex RAF10/RAR12 hubs, CX-Rays and XR200 rims, 28R24F. They are indeed light at 1340g, and seem to have held up well so far. I had to replace the rear rim, but that was due to @Cycliste crashing and the rear wheel being run over by another rather large rider. They're very narrow rims though, and not in any way aero, so unless weight is the overriding consideration I'd say there are better choices out there.

  • I'm generally a climber, so lightweight is probably what I'm after, though I shouldn't forget about the other stuff too (cheers for sharing experience). My road bike in general ain't no featherweight though, that in mind.

    Thing is, I've spoiled myself with the first set of road wheels I ever had being really light Dura-Ace ones for a great price. So I find myself wanting something similar again for not that much money. I've resolved to get some Hunt Aero road (maybe even the wide ones), they seem like the best compromise.
