Skylarks, mostly. Took a walk down earlier to see if I could tell whether it was the nesting grounds which had gone up, but quickly realised the only way I was going to figure that out was by walking much closer to a massive fire than I was comfortable with. Settled for papping a snap from a safe distance and going home.

Wanstead Flats is home to some kind of rare ground-nesting birds, and to people who barbecue despite not being allowed to.
