  • Which bit would bring one hand opening knives into the definition of flick knives? I skimmed through but thought the new wording's use of "automatically" would mean more than just a thumb hole or stud. Would really suck if owning a Leatherman wave becomes illegal!

  • Wooliness in the wording around the definition of flick knife, specifically: ‘other device in or attached to the knife’ in reference to the opening mechanism. There’s some concern that this might extend to one-hand opening blades. UKBF already routinely seize knives with flipper tabs claiming they’re illegal, even though there’s no spring opening the blade.

  • I don't understand. It clearly says devices that enables automatic opening. How is a one hand opening blade automatically opened?

    All sounds a bit 2A to me.

  • Thanks. I hadn't read it that way but I'm not a lawyer. It seems a stretch but knife laws are already a bit silly so this might not help.
