which points at something's been changed. It makes no sense for Apple to not fix the keyboard now they repair it for free. It also makes little sense to announce a bit 'we fucked up' when it only affects a few % of users

They have a fairly sizeable department just focusing on the keyboards. They’ve probably refined the design enough that it’s at least reliable now.
