When you say up, do you mean down, to a bigger cog? If it's shifting to a smaller cog, the tension would be less and you'd be dropping a chain, no?
Were you using RD as tensioner or trying to run magic gear?
Trying to run magic gear. There was not much RD left. And it climbed to the bigger cog, so shifted down.
Guess it depends on what you have left of the RD then.
Presume you were in the middle of the cassette?
