Mrs CYOA has been banging on about her friend from uni that owns a stationers for ages and they've just opened a branch in Brighton (Papersmiths) so I popped in. Slightly twee (though very pretty) in terms of presentation but it didn't stop me enjoying at least half an hour arranging slightly wonky pens on shelves :/
Saw a Tombow Zoom 707 in the flesh for the first time. Absolutely nuts design. Like it but find the rubber seal around the twist mechanism is a bit loose so could imagine being unsatisfied with it as it slips down over time. Saw a couple of other Tombows but for the most it was just (very) nice coloured felt pens and pencils. I did however pick up a metallic blue OhTo Horizon. Really lovely action (side button to release). Feels really nice to click. Will see how long the spring lasts after my intensive fervour. Books and magazines didn't do a lot for me. And their notepads were slim pickings. Still. Beats WHSmiths. 7 pens out of 10.
Edit: Another gripe is lack of stock compared to their website. Would have loved to stock up on some Pigma Microns https://www.papersmiths.co.uk/collections/pens/products/pigmamicronpen-purple or these Color On You things https://www.papersmiths.co.uk/collections/pens/products/liveworkcoloronyoupenturquoise
