  • Got in
    Just got to find somewhere to stay
    Hope to get a air bnb for 3-4 days

  • Got in, as did my brother, at 2nd time of asking. Need to get fit and lose weight.

  • Mebbie, mebbie not. I've entered four times, got a slot three times without a club. Think predicted times will make more difference- more people applying for one time slot = less chance.

  • Yeah... Spose. Went a bit (not wildly) conservative so maybe made a difference.... Who knows? Anyway, sharing the pain of 'failure' has (an I apologise) made me feel better.
    Safe cycling all

  • If anyone is looking for a place, a small charity I volunteer for has a few spare spaces. Lyme Disease Action.

    They aren't looking for any commitments about fund raising any amount in particular, or any up front payment yourself unlike many big charities doing RL.

    PM me if you want any more info.

  • ^ as above, two places available still. Last 2 weeks to be able to register to do it.

    Charity only looking to cover its cost of entries, no up front fee, just try and raise some funds and awareness. Get in touch for more info.

  • Hi - quite interested, what does it involve?

  • Starting time are being emailed out. I'm glad I live in victoria park so i don't have to travel to far. 5am wake up is balls.

  • 6:12 start time for me, in the same wave as my wife, which is super amazing and lucky!
    Last time She was 45 minutes ahead of me, and had to wait.

  • 6.04 not even the sparrows will be awake when I set off for the start.

  • My GF is goin out on Saturday night Im pretty sure I will be up and gone before she gets home.

  • 05.48 start time. Wave load begins 04.44. Cos who needs sleep?!

  • I've just postponed my entry for a year. Really gutted, but I've not been riding for the last few months, due to overrunning builder's, and am therefore in a shocking fitness position at the moment.

  • What happens to postponed entries? Do they become available for others?

  • No. I assume the organisers are expecting a certain percentage of postponements and allowed the ride to be slightly oversubscribed because of this.

  • fuck that!

  • I’ve had similar start times the last three years. You see a lot of people doing the walk of shame...

  • I think there was a crash caused in previous years due to people stumbling across the roads?

  • Not at all surprised.

  • So is there any legs in this, anyone else interested?

    Carpe Diem ride at 5 am

    @Dubkev
    @Greeno

  • Out. 5 am on a Sunday, no chance

  • Ha but 5am on a Saturday would have been ok?
    What about 8pm Saturday, Hackney... dip in the North Sea around 5am Sunday??

  • 5am Saturday yes.
    But finishing at 5am means I get home still in the morning to see my other half still early in the day. Starting at 5 means I’m gone the whole morning
