Exactly. Plan B was crosses from Mertens to the big man, because the France defence was too strong to let the Belgians penetrate playing the way they'd have liked to have, which means centre forwards are superfluous.

I suppose yes, plan b was hoik it tlinto the box. But I think I meant that mertens first touch was more than the sum of twinkle toes' minutes on the pitch.

I don't know about that. Dembele, twinkle toes with the build of a fridge and the speed of a man, was shit. Mertens came on and made more of an impact, I know I know maybe dembele was doing stuff that wasn't visible.
If Lukaku had balls he'd be my aunty's granny I know, but there were more chances for him when mertens was on.
