Just saw the replay, no discs. He should have rode on for 300 meters!
Isn't the 3km rule just for crashes, not mechanicals etc?
-
• #203
He couldn’t ride on - both wheels trashed from hitting street furniture.

Wonder if Quickstep are thinking about the green jersey. Gaviria going for the intermediate suggests they might be. They've got a strong enough team to make things hard for Sagan/Bora.

Quintana should have just rolled the 300m to inside the 3k marker. Then he wouldn't have lost time.

On smashed rims?

There were so so many round abouts and road furniture on yesterday’s stage. I’m honestly surprised it was only one rider suffering from them.

There was an infographic knocking around yesterday, France has more roundabouts per person than any other country in Europe.

That's the one.
I want to take French urban planners to Swindon to really mess with their minds.

Gaviria is definitely capable of taking it but he's going to have to fight off Sagan. Adam Hansen mentioned yesterday how Gaviria is the better climber so it could happen.

What's the best strategy for green this year? Get clear for the intermediates and take the finals? Or just the finals?
Didn't see yesterday at all, how did gaviria do it? Did the Wolfpack lead him out? -

The magic roundabout is well easy to cycle over, so long as you are happy to chance people that don’t give way.
To be honest it’s all the roads that join there, that are the issue. I don’t like riding over it, there are way better routes a few hundred meters in diameter from there.
The only issue in Swindon is the assholes that don’t give way... the nonsense of our road layout are the least concern.

Gavi had a proper lead out but last 100-150 meters (confirmation please) he was at the front with Sagan tailing him. You can see Sagan trying to push it and accelerate but he just couldn’t. He wasn’t able to gain any distance to Gaviria. A clean win.

Ta.

Yea Saggo definitely realised and sat up. Has he sprinted against Gaviria recently? Maybe he hasn’t realised what the others already know, how much longer it takes before Gavi starts to slow down.

uphill sprint today gonna be good.

It was meant to be a joke because I think the exact conversation was had three times in this thread last night.
