Pulled the carpet back, made a few cuts in the floorpan and bolted the new seat base down. It all went together surprisingly easy. The new seat doesn't sit as far back as the old seat in the rearmost position, but it is still useable for tall people with long femurs. I managed to transfer the seat heating to the new seat and I'm almost done reupholstering the new seat with the old fabric which is ugly as sin, but at least it all matches.
