It's really hit and miss where I am, only the strongest displays show. 1 hour north of me it's a weekly sight.

5 hours north almost nightly when they dance.

I have a nice beagle that can be seen regardless of atmospheric conditions.

Where are you if you don't mind me asking?
We were thinking of going early January, thought that was fairly optimal.

Yeah, I'm in Wormit, Fife. South side of the Tay opposite Dundee.

This happened March 2016..... TBF the aurora was spotted in Portugal that night and I've never seen it like this again since.
