Also also also, I really like this gearing. I can cruise in the 46t all day on the road and just drop down to 30t on steep gravel stuff like the above or when loaded up with gear. 50-34/11-36 just had me cross-chained in both chainrings - on the 34 I'd be using the smallest 5 sprockets and in the 50 I'd be using the biggest 5. With the 46t it's bumped me up a couple of sprockets so I've got a nice distribution of time spent in each one, clustered around the middle of the cassette. In the top gear I'm hitting 50 kph/30 mph which probably a better match for my top speed on the flat.
