Just read something on Twitter that made my head spin.
Somebody was arguing that because only a few hundred people turned out to protest Erdogan when he visited the UK and many more people will likely turn out to protest Trump, it apparently shows that "anger over Trump is mostly false or I'll informed or worse, simply cheap and nasty if people like Erdogan are ignored".
I don't even know how to start computing this. Is it impossible to object or disagree with many things/people but choose to protest in person about a few? Does the fact that I have only marched over Brexit and the Iraq war mean that I don't care about other issues or that my reasons for supporting those protests are invalid because I don't march against FGM or power abuses in Zimbabwe?
When I read opinions like this my brain blows a fuse. How can this muddling of equivalency and perversion of logic be an opinion that an actual adult human being has?
